Gazprom CEO: Russians’ access to gas at 66% as of Jan 1

MOSCOW, Feb 29 (PRIME) – Russia’s gasification amounted to 66.2% on January 1, 2016, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller told President Vladimir Putin on Monday.

“We have the level of gas supplies of 66.2% as of January 1, 2016. This is 13% more than in 2005, when we stated a large-scale gas network extension program,” Miller said.

Gazprom will invest 25 billion rubles in gas supply development in 2016, the same as in 2015, Miller said. Last year, Gazprom built 1,275 kilometers of pipeline bypasses and distribution networks and started gas deliveries to 206 cities and towns.

Putin said that the gas shipped by Gazprom does not always arrive to the end consumer, and

asked Miller to pay attention to coordination of works with local authorities.
